Vermont Soy is growing, and we’re looking for a dynamic individual to take us to the next level.  A production manager with experience in food production, sanitation and management of production staff is needed immediately.  The production manager is critical to the successful growth of Vermont Soy.  This is a demanding position that requires a dedicated individual capable of meeting production demands, creatively looking for ways to improve the process, working on new product development and maintaining a safe, clean and positive work environment.  This is a hands-on position that will lead by doing.

The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of tofu and soymilk production, will supervise a crew to assist in production, packaging and shipping.  The manager will ensure that the production facility meets the sales orders placed on a weekly basis.  This will entail scheduling the production crew, pre-production set-up, post production cleaning, storage of produced products, packaging of products for distributor pickup and solid recordkeeping.

A degree in food, production, manufacturing or relevant field is desired. Experience in food production, food handling, sanitation and management is required. The production manager is a salaried position; benefits include paid vacation and free tofu and soymilk.  Additionally there is the potential for employee equity ownership in a growing company.

BLOG GIRL!

Check out this blog by Steff Deschenes, which mentions Vermont Soy. Steff's blog, Almanac of Eats, chronicles each day of the "food calendar" (did you know each day of the year is a National Food Holiday? Yeah, neither did we!) in wholesome, healthy, hilarious ways! While celebrating food, Steff inadvertently and humorously worhips Dionysus, the joys of veganized junk food, and sports some pretty slick body art. Hip, healthy, and smart? Contradictory no more!
